The term strategic management is used to denote a branch of management that is concerned with the development of strategic vision, setting out objectives, formulating and implementing strategies and introducing corrective measures for the deviations to reach the organisation’s strategic intent. This course informs students of issues and perspectives in strategic management and corporate policy. It focuses on the processes of strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation: in short, it focuses on each step in the process of strategic management. This course also examines strategic management issues at the business and corporate levels, in acquisitions and restructuring, in international strategies and in cooperative strategies.
